Fighting uncertainty
I refuse to let those small details crawl on me after a long weekend in silence,
Like spiders, knitting a web of silvery day dreams all around me.
I refuse to yield to patience and numbness.
I’ve pushed away loneliness and contempt while smoking the last cigarette of the pack,
And I’ll push them away again when I reach the last of my new pack,
The one I haven’t bought yet,
But I will.
I don’t want to fight with uncertainty anymore
But I refuse to be defeated,
And so I throw a punch to uncertainty’s face
Only to watch my hand disappear in the darkness.
